Dr. Jon B. Hartley grew up in Lenoir, North Carolina and is a graduate of South Caldwell High School. He attended Appalachian State University for undergraduate studies, where he competed for 4 years as a member of the Division 1 Mountaineer wrestling team and graduated with Cum Laude honors, receiving a degree in Cell and Molecular biology.

Dr. Hartley completed dental school at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned the American Association of Endodontists predoctoral Award in Endodontics. Following graduation, Dr. Hartley spent 3 years working as a general dentist in North Carolina performing general and pediatric dentistry before returning to school to complete a 2-year advanced training residency in endodontics. He completed his endodontic training in San Antonio, Texas at the renowned University of Texas Health Science Center, receiving his Certificate in Endodontics in 2023.

After residency, Dr. Hartley moved to Johnson City, Tennessee and joined New South Endodontics, where he practiced as an associate for a couple of years prior to returning to North Carolina and founding Lincolnton Endodontics and Hickory Endodontics. In addition to practicing full-time, he has also completed a rigorous 3-step board certification process and is currently the only board-certified endodontist in both Lincoln and Catawba County. Dr. Hartley is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, Tarheel Endodontic Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Western Piedmont Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hartley greatly enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, playing golf, enjoying live music, and traveling. He is extremely excited to be back in the foothills of North Carolina serving the good people of both Lincoln and Catawba counties in addition to the surrounding communities.
