Dr. Jon Hartley was born and raised in Lenoir, North Carolina and is a graduate of South Caldwell High School. He attended Appalachian State University for undergraduate studies where he competed 4 years as a member of the Mountaineer wrestling team and obtained a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology; graduating with cum laude honors.
Dr. Hartley completed dental school at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine where he was rewarded the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) Award recognizing the top graduating student in endodontics. He practiced as a general dentist in North Carolina for 3 years prior to returning to academia to receive advanced training in Endodontics at the world-renowned University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio.
Dr. Hartley has been extensively trained in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries relating to the dental pulp and surrounding tissues. His skillset includes but is not limited to: Root Canal Therapy, Root Canal Retreatment, Endodontic Microsurgery (Apicoectomies), Vital Pulp Therapy, and Regenerative Endodontics. After completing residency, he practiced as an associate at New South Endodontics in Johnson City, Tennessee for 2 years before returning home to North Carolina and founding Hickory and Lincolnton Endodontics.
Dr. Hartley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, representing the highest level of academic excellence in the Endodontic specialty. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists and the Tarheel Endodontic Association. Dr. Hartley is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care tailored to the individual needs of each patient by deploying the latest technology and equipment necessary for providing unmatched endodontic care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hartley greatly enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, golfing, enjoying live music, and traveling. He is extremely excited to be back in his home state of North Carolina providing endodontic care for the community he grew up in.
